Dr. Catherine Monk is the Herbert Irving Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology and Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry and Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Monk has been actively involved in the development of the Women’s Health Program at Columbia. In her clinical practice, she routinely sees patients for treatment of perinatal depression and complicated bereavement (after miscarriage and other poor outcomes in pregnancy).
Dr. Monk’s research focuses on the possible effects of pregnant women’s stress, anxiety, and depression on fetal and infant development. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Nathaniel Wharton Fund for several years
